I’m 15 and 5’8-5’9. A lot of the girls in my class are 5’3-5’4 and I feel like a complete giant. Lately I’ve been trying to get past it, though, and stand tall, and this tumblr is really boosterish! Definitely appreciated! :)

being tall and "girly" sports
I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I’m a figure skater and I’m 5’9 (I know, not on the very tall side but still pretty tall). I hear all the time that my height is going to somehow limit my performance and that short people have the advantage because of their “low center of gravity.” I find this to be completely untrue and I’m tired of hearing it....

Here’s a picture from the NJCAA tennis tournament this past fall… I’m hunched over and STILL a head taller than the other three girls. You know it’s bad when the opposing coach says mid-serve “How tall IS she?!?” ….needless to say, we won :]
