Kendra, 17 years old, 5'10.5For all the beautiful tall girls and the problems we have to endure. Through all the teasing, feeling out of place & short hems, I'm finally coming to a point where I realized that there's nothing wrong with being a little different. People still try to tear me down about it but there will always be people doing that. These problems are mostly to make you laugh & go "OH MY GOD. THAT'S MY LIFE." But this is more than just a place to share each other's problems. It's a support group where we encourage girls to see the beauty within them (so play nice, ladies). Above Average
I just stumbled on this site and I’m soooo happy to see it! I am 5’11” and 57 years old. I had no “tall” support growing up so it took years to embrace my height, stand up straight and start wearing heals. My husband is only an inch taller but he always tells me I’m ”full grown” and “above average”. I love it!

Telling the surgeon that you are 5’13 and having him say “Really I would have thought you were over 6 feet…” Minutes before surgery!
All the size 12 shoes left are HIGH HEELS? Really?

About four days ago, I was talking to two friends of mine. One of them is quite tall (5’8) and although the other is not exactly short (somewhere between 5’4-5’5), she still is shorter than us… Anyway, we were talking about gymnastics. Then, the ‘short’ one said: “Ha, I can date cute gymnasts and you can’t!” My tall friend replied: “Well, it’s not against the law dating someone shorter than you, is it?” She answered: “No, but it’s weird”. I said: “My friend, that’s the mindset of a submissive woman”. Keep calm, girls. I’m not saying you are submissive because you prefer taller guys (because I do too). I just said that to make her shut up.
Seriously, short girls seem to love pointing out the “flaws” of being tall. I think they are just jealous and are trying to reassure themselves. If they are insecure about their height, they should try to get over it, not criticize us.
The other day I was at the mall and saw a girl who was probably 6’2 or 6’3. I was a bit jealous. She was beautiful! I felt so short near her… And I didn’t like that feeling, lol. Thank God I’m taller than 80% of people most part of the time!

Im 14 and just under 5’10. I went shoe shopping today and saw the cutest wedges. I loved them. I was about 6’3 in them and didn’t care..untill the girl who worked at the store was like “I dont think you need those. You are already too tall without them. Go for some flats” I was so pissed off i wanted to punch her right in the face…but I didn’t. I bought the shoes that I love! Honestly I think she was a little jealous. She was like 5’. I definetly learned a lesson today. Buy more heels and embrace being tall.
5’11 and I like it.
Whenever anyone makes a jab about my height, I always say, “but I could model if I wanted to” and proceed to tell them about the only two modeling job offers I ever got in my life but make it seem like more of a big deal, and that normally shuts them up. :D
