Tall Girl Problems
Kendra, 17 years old, 5'10.5For all the beautiful tall girls and the problems we have to endure. Through all the teasing, feeling out of place & short hems, I'm finally coming to a point where I realized that there's nothing wrong with being a little different. People still try to tear me down about it but there will always be people doing that. These problems are mostly to make you laugh & go "OH MY GOD. THAT'S MY LIFE." But this is more than just a place to share each other's problems. It's a support group where we encourage girls to see the beauty within them (so play nice, ladies). Ask me anything & feel free to submit!
"You're only as tall as your heart will let you be and you're only as small as the world will make you seem."
I’m somewhere in between 5’8” and 5’9”, which I realize isn’t extremely tall but it is when you compare me to my friends. For a long time I loved being tall, and then I realized that I didn’t like having to literally look down on my family and friends (especially the guy ones!) I weigh around 150 pounds, which is a healthy weight level for my height but about fifty pounds more than what most of my friends weigh. I have some stretch marks on my legs from all the growing they’ve endured that I’m super self-conscious about, and I also have broad shoulders that are a real pain when trying on shirts. It wasn’t until recently that I began to appreciate my height and the other things that annoyed me and accept the fact that this is the way God made me, and now I’m starting to see some of the perks of being a human giraffe. (For example, being told by your teachers and people at a prom dress shop that you should be a model :) ) So to all my fellow tall girls, I have three words for you: YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! Don’t ever stop believing that! Just remember, God made you tall so you could reach up and touch the sky. <3
